Tracking RI legislation that violates freedom from religion and civil rights
Rhode Island Atheists closely monitors state and legislation which affects our constitutional rights and the wall of separation between religion and government. Some of these bills advance religious equality, while others foster discrimination or create special privileges for religious people and organizations.
Rhode Island Atheists has been at the forefront of the fight for reproductive rights in Rhode Island. Standing with our partners at the state house, we successfully passed the EACA, extending abortion access in our state. In addition, we have testified in favor of the Compassionate Care Act, the Sex workers immunity bill, and against the harmful “Parents bill of rights” and Pro-Life License Plate Bills.
